This morning, after our adventures with the taxis, we decide to be smart and get BTS and the metro. Smart idea - I am very impressed with the public transport system around Bangkok. It is easy, intuitive, well indicated and very clean.

We go to Hua Lamphong station to get tickets for the overnight train to Chiang mai. From there, we get a tuk tuk to Wat Pho temple. Tuk tuks are interesting in Bangkok, the 4 of us cram into the back seat and make sure we hold on for our lives while the tuk tuk driver navigates through the traffic in Bangkok.
Wat Pho is the temple of the reclining Buddha. But the heat drained us all pretty quickly and that's the most sight seeing we could do on that day.

After lunch, we go back to the airbnb to chill before our 7.35pm overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai from Hua Lamphong train station. It is 5.15ish and we are chit chatting in the lounge. The receptionist comes to chat to us and casually asks us where we are heading. As soon as we say we have to catch the train at 7.35pm, her expression changes and she hastily asks us to rush because of a festival in town and and heavy traffic. (It took us 30mins in the morning). We wait for the taxi and finally get one after 20 mins. 5 mins in the taxi, the taxi driver tells us it will take 2 hours. At this rate we are sure to miss our train. We go back and forth with him and eventually tell him to stop us at the mrt station instead. It is now 6.05pm, We run to silom mrt station, drag our luggage up the stairs and get in the metro to train station. We make it to the train by 6.40pm - Beat that!! That was another adventure in itself.
At this stage, with our transport adventures in Bangkok, this city should be the city of our transport stories.
